Exporting product master data

Written by Adrian Berger

In Xentral you have several options to export your product master data:

  • Full export of the product master data using the import/export center

  • Selective export of information via the product master data

A full export is required when you need all your existing product master data, e.g. for the setup of a new system or module.

You use a selective export when you only want to export specific data and not the data set as a whole.

Export product master data using the import/export center

You can find specific instructions on how to export your product master data here.

You can find general information about the export in the Import/Export article.

Export product master data via the Product module

Master data > Product > Overview tab

In the Overview tab you will find the following five buttons below your overview table:

  • Clipboard

  • CSV

  • Excel

  • PDF

  • Print

If you want to print your product master data, make sure that a printer has been set up in Xentral .

To export specific product master data:

  1. Filter your data so that only the information you want to export is displayed.

  2. Make sure that all the required data is shown on one page. Use the Entries per page option for this purpose. Only data displayed on the screen will be exported when you click the export buttons.

  3. Click Clipboard, CSV, Excel, PDF or Print.

Important

If you want to export large quantities of data, the export buttons are not the best option for you. Only the displayed data is exported and the display is limited to 1000 records. For this reason we recommend using the import/export function for the export of more than 1000 records.

Exporting your data using the Clipboard button can lead to irregular formations when copying the data into a document. We recommend an export using CSV, Excel or PDF.

Note

These export buttons are also available to you in many other tabs in the product master data module.
